Once an artillery fire coordinator for dragonkiller cannons, then adjutant, in the final years of the Dragonsong war, Eleisa now serves the Temple Knights in a position she regards with much chagrin as a retirement post. The arming and training of novice arquebusiers is, in her mind, a task of little merit - Stephanivien's Hounds are more practiced in any case, and she is loath to call them her seniors. Thus she remains, spinning her wheels in place.

The Heart of Combat, otherwise known as Coerthan fencing, is and was a discipline taught privately and orally to worthy students of war across the Western Coerthan Highlands for many generations. Though lacking in talent with the blade, Eleisa was nevertheless adjutant to the heritor of the art when serving with the Knights Chasseur. That selfsame captain committed these teachings to print; this manuscript serves still as motive to see her yet strive to improve upon her swordsmanship.
